Should you have sitewides. Many people suggest, rightly or wrongly, sitewides are frowned upon by Google. However, sitewides, if in prominent position, can provide good number of referrals. Whats your take on this? Should you go for sitewides in the hope of getting some referrals but damge your chances to rank well on Google, or should you go for clean link devlopment and keep Google happy?

Personally, up till now, I have been very careful in develoing clean links i.e. no sitewides and spammy links. I have also avboided getting too many reciprocals, knowing Google does not pay much attention to them any longer.

If you're worried about ranking issues then ask to have them stick a no follow tag on it.

If you have a question about whether something works in Google or not, please ask it in the Google Search forum.

The Link Development forum is about the development of links. If you ever have a doubt if your post is appropriate, click on the link that says, Charter, and read the Charter.

Thanks.
