Using Link Directorys on your website does work!

Looking at the top 2 websites in my chosen niche they both have directory parts to there site with over a hundred links.

It looks very very spammy but they take 1 and 2 for both google and yahoo.

They dont display adsense but rather they make there money another way.

Your views!

I would really have hoped that the search engines frowned upon this but they have been in places 1 and 2 for over a year now and continue to reap in the traffic.

I have always included a resources section on my sites. This section includes relevant, quality links to sites I think my visitors might be interested in. Maybe 10-15% are reciprocal, and the rest just there for the benefit of the visitor. And, in fact, a fair amount of traffic comes in through these resource pages.
