I have a gambling related website that has been online for 3 months, to day it is PR4 site..

How many links do think I need to get PR6?
Would it be enough for me to buy to PR5 links or two
PR6 links to get to PR6 or does this depend, would I maybe need 100 links more..

Please comment on this headache! ;)

A couple of PR7s should produce a PR6.

Why do you care about your PR anyway?

I'm with Arran why bother about PR so long as your not going to try and sell links on!

or does this depend,

Exactly. It depends a lot on the links.

What the others are hinting at is you can go after keyword terms with great success without worrying about PR. Well targeted text links will bring your low PR page better results than a high PR page.

While high PR is "generally" good, targeted incoming links are better.

thanks for the tips, your info is very appreciated!

I typed in few keywords in google that are the most relevant to my site.. the top 3 sites were PR6 after that there were PR5 sites, looked like the got ranked higher after the PR went higher ;)

What would be the best thing for me to do to get a higher ranking?

Identify a few important keyword phrases. Not necessarily the most obvious, perhaps the ones people actually type in. Sometimes we think widgeting or widgets for sale is really important, but what real people type is widgets in cincinnati.

Ask a few friends what they type into a search box. Or better, show them a picture or an ad for a widget, then watch what they type in to find it on the internet without coaching them.

Once you've come up with a few good terms, get incoming text links for that phrase on other web sites. In a perfect world that link is in the middle of a paragraph on the subject. For "care and handling of widgets" try this:

While learning to use widgets, Bill took a course at Big State University on the care and handling of widgets. This proved the key to a successful career path as a widget handler. Now the top widgeteer in Cincinnati....

Several well targeted links like this can make PR irrelevant.

On your particular topic, you'll need some serious firepower to rank high for the search terms, forget about PR and check your competitors backlinks in a couple of the different SE's. This is where you want to start from if you want toget good rankings, but like the others said, on topic links that bring traffic are gold.

"How many links do think I need to get PR6?"

Your question has to be broken down into several questions in order for you to get a clear picture :

"How many PR0 links do think I need to get PR6?"

"How many PR1 links do think I need to get PR6?"

"How many PR2 links do think I need to get PR6?"

"How many PR3 links do think I need to get PR6?"

"How many PR4 links do think I need to get PR6?"

"How many PR5 links do think I need to get PR6?"

:-)

I would say 2124 links, plus or minus 53, all figures within 4 standard deviations. -LH

Forget gambling. You are going to deal with people like me. Anyone that does WH seo for money keywords like that is going to waste a few years of their life. No one plays fair and you are up against every BH spammer using every trick in the book.
