Where to begin with link development

Ok, we have completed what we feel is a good, unique site that is constantly growing with new content from our ppc efforts.

We now want to start attaining organic rankings and need to develop our link building strategy.

Where would you start? The site has 0 current inbound links, it appears obvious that related inbound links are what we need - how would you suggest we begin to acquire these?

Any input is greatly appreciated.
