Site promotion through link building

i have a site into which me and my friends post content,
and for each click we are getting good amount of money also,
but we are getting just abt 70-100 impressions per day,
means less visitors,

can anyone suggest me to get more visitors( otherthan adwords)
like link building,
if link building, what is the method i should follow?
i found very less people are ready to help me with this topic,

i hope, i can get some people here, who are ready to help me out.

This made me think and forgive me if this has been dealt with before, but if you link to a good, relevant site and send them some traffic, how often do they check you out and link back to you without you asking(obviously assuming that your sites are good and useful).

Sorry if this is a weird question, I've had a slow week.

till now,
i didnt link to any other sites,
atleast 1 person links to my site everyday,
but thats not bringing me much traffic,
2-5 visiotors per day.

You may want to read the link dev library in order to learn more about link building. Obviously, one thread cannot encompass the whole of link building knowledge. But the library is a good start.
