I have found several sites that have good PR on some of their links pages and sell links to commercial sites. I was wondering if links from these sites can be easily caught by Google and whether they are discounted or not? Is it best to avoid links on pages called links.html or resourcres.html altogether? Thanks!

I have no proof but I'd say yes to both questions. I wouldn’t buy a link unless you think it will bring you quality traffic.

I guess, if they do it through an agency or they link to the usual suspects it's rather easy to detect. But if it is a real website, you approach them for a link and offer some cash - how should anybody find out? I'd always insist on links that are within text and fit on the page.

Many paid links leave an easy trail to follow.

Risky? If you get caught up in a ring, sure, there is always a risk.

Basically it comes down to some paid links work and some paid links don't work (for link manipulation). Your mileage will vary. Getting caught up in an exchange brings with it a certain level of risk depending on the type of exchange.

Hi,
Well, I'm new to the forum but from my experiences of pay links, they are normally OK. The best way to buy links is to contact the site owner and ask them if they'd be interested in selling you one. (of course the site should be able to bring you decent traffic)..It's even better if your link can appear as natural as possible..(included within an article or something like that)
