I'm developing a directory and I'm trying to optimize it to improve the traffic to sites and improve all aspects of a sites search e n g i n e - R a n k. Initially I was under the belief that giving a site a full page would give them the most benefit, seeing they wouldn't be sharing link space. With what I know about G o o g l e, that would be a complete vote, divided by the number of l i n k s on the page, which are minimal. What I'm finding though in my reasearch is it is going to be easier to build p a g e r a n k to l i n k pages with many l i n k s. Please help, which is going to provide the most benefit to my members.

Only one link per page makes probably only sense if you add a thorough review of the site - something like 300 words about the website; adding several links to subpages; that would be a valuable link.

Just the link itself won't leave a huge mark on the traffic, I would think. SE would regard the page as useless - much like users would.

Build your directory for people, not for SEs! Good luck,
