Hello,

Is there any difference in terms of search engine ranking between to be linked exclusively from sites written in the same language of your own and to be linked from any language sites?

Also,is there any difference as regard to the "category"?
f.i., if my site deals with hi fi and it is linked from a site that deals with jewels instead that with electronics?

I ask that because I would extend the link network of a brand new started web site of mine, that actually is composed only of sites written in the same language and dealing with similar stuff, but I'm afraid that the manouvre could result in a loss of ranking...

What's your opinion/experience about, guys?
Any feedback will be appreciated.

Sincerely

Quadrille

Link networks are very risky indeed; link networks of non-related sites are SEO suicide.

Google has always said that linking 'for the search engines, not visitors' is bad, and they are now acting on that advice. Other SEs are not quite so fussy; but they generally follow Google's lead once they get their act together.

This has been discussed on multiple threads in these forums - and most others.
