can any one tell me whats the importance of Anchor Text for good ranking when we use it during link exchange
Your anchor text should be concise but descriptive. Many times, you will see webmasters load anchor text with repeating keywords. We tell our clients not to do that because it looks spammy and doesn't usually benefit the end user.
But some comma separated keywords is acceptable if beneficial for the end user.
Lets say for example your website promotes a market where you sell vegetables. Anchor text such as:
Tom's Disco Grocery - We sell vegetables including cucumbers, tomatoes, pumpkins, oranges, plantains, squash, onions, lemons, zuchinni, herbs, spices, and more!
is not the best in my opinion because it doesn't highlight something unique or eye catching for the end user to take notice of. The repeating keywords are somewhat useless because most folks would assume those items would be sold in a grocery.
better:
Tom's Disco Grocery - We sell the freshest vegetables with our specialities being organic tomatoes, organic pumpkins, and organic potatoes. Shop to the sounds of the 70s.
Is more acceptable because it's not too long and mentions a specific feature that your business specializes in such as an organic product. And highlighting a uniqueness of the business such as the music one would hear while shopping benefits the end user who might be looking for a unique shopping experience.
When it comes to anchor text, keep it concise, descriptive, not too many comma separated keywords, and try to convey something unique about your business or service so that it makes an impact with those who read it.
It you visit Elbonia you can buy the freshest vegetables at Tom's Disco Grocery, including organic tomatoes, organic pumpkins, and organic potatoes.
I'd prefer freshest vegetables or organic tomatoes be the anchor text, but even if you can only get Tom's Disco Grocery which has a nice proximity to the other keywords.
