Hey everyone,

I was hoping to get some ideas on how to make my charity campaign as successful as possible. Let me give you a scenario, for example "I am donating a piece of art to be auctioned off for breast cancer on my site."

I am nervous that even though I have collected about 500 sites "womens health, art sites, cancer sites, new sites" that they will not link up with me or put a little news clip for me because its such a competitive world out there.

Who in their right mind would put a competitors link up just because they are helping to donate to a charity

Has anyone done anything like this or have any good ideas of how I can draw a lot of traffic to my online auction?

Have you actually tried contacting the sites? I gathered from your post you hadn't, but were worried that they *may* say no. You never know until you try. I've had people doing similar things request these from sites I either own or manage. Usually, I require them to do a full, one page, original write up. I get content, they get their link.

thanks for the advice,

well i have gathered about 500 sites and I am in the process of writing as an effective, informative and interesting article as possible.

The goal is to bring people to my site to bid on the online auction and then to see my site after the fact.

I just have a fear that most people even other charity sites will not want to place a banner or an article on their front page to help out my breast cancer charity. Charities will want people to donate to their own charities not to draw traffic away. Same with other sites Im assuming?

Well, national associations slapping up a full length article on their main page isn't going to happen. I certainly wouldn't "suggest" front page placement as it might turn a lot of people off. Asking for a mention, any mention, will get you put where they feel they have room. You'll likely have better luck with the sites outside the big, government supported organizations as well.
