Google Link: - not showing all sites linked to us

Does anyone know why only six sites show up when I enter link:url-name when I know for a fact we have many more sites linking to us?

Hi, I asked this question a while back.

The answer is that for some reason Google does not display all your backlinks properly.

various theories were suggested but they are mostly guesswork.

Use a different backlink tool to see them all and ignore the google link command.

Yahoo probably shows best results.

The Google linking tool never claims to show all of the links. It says right in their help section that it "shows a sample of the pages linking to your site". Yahoo seems to be much more comprehensive.. You can use the commands linksite:www.url.com and linkdomain:www.url.com
