How do I link with no PR

I was wondering if anyone knew how I can begin swapping links again as my site has been wiped out by G in the last update.
People will not want to swap links with me as my PR is now 0, My backlins have been taken away and the site is no longer cached - nightmare

Before you start linking again, the most urgent seems to find out why you have been banned in the first place. Remedy to it, and the rest will follow. Time is necessary.

I will suggest you to start with reciprocal links as no one will give one way link to a site with PR 0.
For this, your site needs to have quality content, informative content so that others find beneficial to link with yours. Also try linking with the same theme based sites as yours.

A good portion of people with websites don't even know what PR is. If you have a good site, the only thing PR0 prevents you from is links with toolbar chasers (which agreed, there are a lot of in the "link exchangers" - read, SEO, group).

Agreed. If you really feel you were "wiped" you may want to take a look at why you were wiped and get those issues sorted out.

I also agree with the observation that you should fix what is broken before spinning your wheels building links.

The million pound question I suppose everyone wants to know is how do i found out where I went wrong?

I am setting up another site and was wondering what you guys recommended:
Mostly Triangular links
A direct link to link swap
or a mixture of both

I have also in the past had directories for unrelated subjects, is this a good or bad idea? Should i just stick to related sites?

I wil also recommend you to initialy start with Reciprocal links with Quality and Theme based websites and also at the same time try to figure out why Google treated you the way it is now.

May be you will learn bit or two from this exercise which will be helpful to you in the future.

The main problem with hurrying up this process is you might end up linking with any site, and that will be harmful if you choose the wrong type. Panicking is the worst thing to do when chasing links.

I have had a few people requesting links, their index page site is PR 4/5/6 and other main pages from the site have a PR and are all mostly cached within Goo_le.

However what worries me is that they have placed me on a links page that has a PR0, its their main links page and it is not cached. Does that mean they have somehow told Robots to avoid this page and essentially missing out my link, which in return they would get from my site for free?

Check it yourself. Check the metas, robots.txt and visit the site pretending to be an engine.

Again, you think you did something wrong with the old site - I'd figure out *what* or your new site may suffer the same fate.
