Beware of Blog Submission Software

I Got Banned from Google!

I was within the first 5 results in Google but nowhere in Yahoo. So, for the first time, I decided to use an automated link-building method.

It posted about 3,000 blog comments for me. And then, to my horror, I found that GOOGLE HAD BANNED MY SITE!

Apparently Google no longer condones automated comment posting on blogs that have enabled it.

So STAY AWAY FROM <blog submission software> unless you want to suffer the same fate I did!

Lucky
PS: <snip> gave me excellent support while I was a user. But when I asked her for a refund, she simply did not reply. I finally asked Clickbank for the refund, which they they gave in 24 hours.

Perhaps the seller of this software should change the name from automatic blog submission software to:

wipe out your competion software

They would sell a lot more copies :)

I would put this down to conincidence. We have an
authority site, no SEO, and our site occasionally disappears for a month or so every year or so from
Google. We do nothing, and it comes back.

Perhaps you used the same comment over and over again on the blogs?

Just can't wait until all of the blog & guestbook spammers go away in my sector. They have been bouncing back and forth lately though so hopefully they go away like the person that started this thread ;-)

I don't get it, why would google do this?

In this case the user admits of wrong doing, however it is very scray to think that practically anyone can use proxy & such spamming software and post link of their competitor sites on tons of blogs & based on assumption that google will ban such links, the innocent competitor is going to suffer & maybe even loose his bread & butter and in worse case, might be even forced to find something else to do to make living. I am sure (or atleast hope) G must have tought of this issue.

I believe it is a myth that Google would ban a site for blog spamming or adding a mass amount of links in a short period of time. If Google can identify unnatural link increases, what they most likely would do is ignore the new links. Otherwise a whole cottage industry would develop around link bombing competitors to knock them out of the index. It seems we are currently in the middle of a SERP update so I would chalk this up to timing.

Gentlemen and Ladies, spaming of any kind is never a good issue, I know this software that is being mentioned here, I also know that it has a pause feature in so that you can verify that the post you are making is revelant as well as having the ability to post only to certain blogs that you know your post relates to this particular blog, if it is totally unrelated and it defeats the purpose of a blog in the first place, one should get the boot. It doesn't matter if you submit automatically or by hand. If the post you make is revelant and is of value to the readers that visit that blog on a regular basis. It is no different that this forum, if I came in her copy and pasting information that had nothing to do with this topic, that doesn't make for new friends.

I'm late to this conversation, but I want to say that nothing pisses me off more than comment spammers. The guy who did it and had his site banned got a lot less punishment than he deserved.
