Hello,
Im new and I hope to learn alot here. I've had my site up for a while and been in denial about needing recipricol links in order to get good PR. To day I am going to start contacting PR 4+ sites and I'd like to know where is the best place to put their links. Should I make a "Links" page or should the links be scattered in my text,or at the bottom of my homepage? Im just giving a few examples I could come up with but I dont know if any are valid.

Peace,

Andrew

Why only PR 4+ sites?

I agree with Martinibuster. As long as the site isn't part of a link farm or black hat and it's suitable, I would consider the link. The higher the PR, the more likely they're aware of it, and won't want to 'share' it.

I read somewhere to only get PR4+ links for higher PR.
I'll follow your advice and go with good links as long as they are not link farms, this will make finding links much easier. What about link placement. Should I just create a "link" page?

Thanks,

Andrew

Depends on your site structure. If it is feasible, provide two different options -- a stand alone "links" page (or pages, focused on specific themes) or locations within the main body of your site, adjacent to content related to the subject area of the site you are linking to.

The latter option is probably better for you, and for the person you are linking to, but some people may prefer being part of a traditional "links" page.

Always test anything you read. Not everyone writing articles on SEO is the end all authority on the subject.

As far as link placement... the latter option will be the most attractive to link partners. And, it will probably look more natural from an engine standpoint. The main problem will be finding sites who can give you the same value placement back. Don't be afraid to ask for it.

Also, remember that TBPR is not the same as real PR. Judge sites with your head and not the green bar. I've seen some scummy sites with PR six and seven that I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole and have found some awesome quality links that actually deliver traffic on PR zero and one sites.
