Best way to find competitors inbound links?

I see some of my competitors have better pr than me and i assume that they have better and more inbound links than me. I search for competitors name on google and see who links to them. However, I assume that there must be a better way to find their inbound links than google's backlinks option.

Anyone can suggest a better way?

Try Yahoo and MSN.

linkdomain: at Yahoo gives a lot of information. It goes like this:

link:http://www.example.com or
link:http://www.example.com/somepage.html

Those show links to a particular page.

linkdomain: example.com

That shows the links to all of the site, including subdomains.

Once you get into the more advanced levels of link building, you'll likely want a tool that can provide more info, such as the anchor text found in those links, the IP address those links are coming from, the PageRank of those linking pages, etc.

For that, you'll need a tool like OptiLink, SEO Elite, or Backlink Analyzer.

For many sites Google won't show you very many backlinks at all via the 'link' command.
Try this search instead, quotation-marks included:

"+www.websitename.+com"

link:http://www.whitehouse.gov shows 5,150,000 hits

linkdomain:whitehouse.gov shows less: 1,530,000 hits.
