Need info on Backlinks

Changing links of site makes difference?

Please someone clarify me?

I have a doubt related to backlinks. Suppose I have Number of backlinks that are pointing to my home page and all the backlinks have been cached by search engines.

Now I want to distribute the backlinks like to some internal pages I mean changing the homepage link to some internal pages link. Will this change effect ranking in SERPs.

Best bet is to get new backlinks to your internal pages rather than asking your current inbound links to change the destination they are linking to... to answer your question, changing the links pointing to your homepage will almost definitely change your ranks... unless you're in a very non-competitive area.
