I uploaded 5 articles on my website focusing on high KEI keywords to get some quick traffic. These keywords according to #*$! were going to give me nearly 50 hits per day with 15-25 competitions. I went through competitions and found them to be cheap automated directory site made only for earning through G's ad sense.(God save the advertisers who are spending there hard earned $$ on ad words). In a week I ranked on top of all major search engines.

Within 2 weeks I found that my site gained nearly 15-20 back links from those directory websites who were my competitors initially. Now this is the cheapest way of building back links. What you people think?

Of course, that's a great idea! The opportunity to hit Gold Pot isn't easy; if your experiment has proven to be good, it is a good idea to replicate the strategy several times and several times over...

Not all advertisers are wasting their budget on Adsense. Some cocentrate on the search network only.

Are they from Google & portals, from content/product sites, or are the qualified leads coming from scraper sites?

i hate to say it, but i track my buyers (subject to the normal caveats) all the way through my site, and i am getting sales from referals from scraper sites.

... this is through my site having been scraped not from an adwords ad btw, but the same principle applies.

Babu,
I also have backlinks on yahoo and msn from sites that just display search results as content. You'd think SE's would have figured out how to filter out these sites by now. Anyway I just wanted to say that it has worked for me too so go for it!

just as a note we stopped adsense and use adwords only. Adsense is a joke and a waste of money. The sooner that people realise that their money is being fraudulently clicked away the better.

Crush,
I do not understand.

You stopped Adsense on your site? That is, you no longer advertise other web sites on your site?

And that you are only doing Adwords, which advertises your site on others' web site?

Uhmmm... Adsense is when you publish other sites on yours, and you get PAID FOR it... Adwords, is when YOU PAY to advertise your site on others.

But, you are not the first one with the confusion. the names need to be changed. I have heard this confusion before (unless I am confused as to what you are saying).

Tapolyai I guess this is going off topic. We turned off content advertising for our websites i.e adsense. Yes we have a real business and need to buy adwords. If you have "content advertising" switched on that becomes adsense on other peoples sites. With all the bull out there, espotting was particularly bad,we have turned all ads off except the ones that appear on the engines.
