I have an e-commerce site that is about 1 year old. It has many backlinks from many on-topic established sites (mostly PR4-5 links).
In the beginning, i have targeted one main keyword combination (discount widgets) and it is now the anchor text of the most links. After two months or so i managed to get the #11 spot for this one but shortly after that the site dropped and is now at about #600 or so :) So i assume i have just over-optimized it somehow?
What would you suggest i should do now? Get more links to the homepage with a different text? Get more links to the deeper pages (there are only a few)? Try to change the existing links?
And should i try to get some links like "Great cheap discount widgets" so i still have my KWs in it but with more words around?
Please advise - i'm lost :)
Thank you!
Two months to be listed in google is pretty good if you ask me. Especially if google lists 5+ million results.
I would keep building, but diversify your anchor text to cheap widgets, half price widgets, buy widgets, etc.
Hopefully G will see you as the widget authority :)
