Considering paying between US$5-12 for PR 3-5 1 way links from a variety of themed pages. The company sourcing the links is based in India and I feel offer very good value for money. My priorities are that the links are one way, themed, reasonable pr and that each link varies the anchor text and includes descriptions to enhance the 'theme' of the page. I get to verify the pages before they place the links so I can do a G site: search on the URLs too.

My question is, how many links on a page such as this 'might' set off alarm bells for G?

Is it reasonable to assume an algo exists to detect a themed page with multiple links being set up to game G as opposed to a natural links page? Should I avoid even a well set up page if there is more than 20 links? 50? 200?

Examples from this supplier so far suggest links pages are set up on genuine sites that are related to the themes we are targeting.

Any thoughts?
Cheers.

When you outsource, it gets risky. I do all my link development with my own internal team, however, I always check up on everyone and sometimes find my site on a page with 1000 links.

Alarm bells go off! I contact the site owner, and get my site removed 8/10 times.

If you are going to get a link from a site, the MAX links per page should be about 25.

If you work out the actualy value you will receive from a site that has PR3 with 25 links, it sometimes isnt worth it.

Thanks Jaffstar,

I agree, one has to be vigilant with outsourced links but I'm fairly confident given that I can verify what's offered and specify how it's done.

The benefit seems to be in time saved and having good themed links. I'll give it a go and keep it below 25, shooting for 5 and up. Dilution could be a problem regarding PR. But trying to build themed stuff with a view to TrustRank or whatever supercedes PR seems the right way to go. Along with Authority links.

Cheers

Themed links are the way to go :)

The title tag matching your keyword is always a good thing.
