Link via an iFrame src?

Hi all

Quickie (hopefully): if i contain an iFrame that calls content from another site, will a) the link in the iFrame src="" parameter get spidered and b) would it count as an outgoing link?

Can't remember right now, but if you put anything in-between <iframe src=...>these tags</iframe> it will get the target indexed.

depends and depends. most do, some don't, most devalue any kind of framed content at least partially.

In my studies of googlebot and other spiders ... the important spiders crawl the page but they crawl a direct link many more times and appear (suggestive not objective) to index the direct link page better.

My studies have been using iframes to place content that requires CGI or a script to be ran which requires more time ... placing that in an iframe improves page loading time.

Currently my plans for that type of content is to place it in an iframe but have the code modify the information between (iframe) and (/iframe) providing content for the search engine [which may not be the most current] while providing current content to live visitors.
