Is this a good one way linking tactic?

Linking out from one site and receiving on another

Hi,
After reading through the forum it seems no one quite agrees if reciprocal links work or not but most at least agree that one way links are better.
So, as i own two sites on the same topic, will Google cotton on if i offer to link one way from site A and receive an incoming link to site B.
Site B is the one i'm most interested in promoting and site A has a higher PR.
I'm just wondering if the algorithms have some way to check sites that are on the same server or have the same Whois data.
I'm sure this is an old trick but i couldn't find any references to it here...

yes google will realise what you are up to.

will the algo give you more ´´points´´ for doing it that way rather than a simple reciprical link.
I am not sure, but my GUESS is that it will recognise it as a simple reciprical link. (if it does not now it surely will in the future).

Ok, thanks Old Dog.
I guess there's not much point in trying to be smarter than a team of maths graduates.

there are lots of schools of thought on that one.

I am of the school that they are smarter than me. Therefore I will not try to out smart them. I will read what there rules are. And play from there.

I try to place myself in there shoes. I am not interested in slash and burn sites, but am trying to build up web real estate.
