Time-Frame on backlinks

I am a bit worried. I have verified over 60 backlinks into one of my new sites, however, alltheweb link:mysite search only returns 6. So my question is how long is the delay between when they are put up(and that page is crawled) and when they show up on alltheweb? Do backlinks only getting updated during certain times? How exactly does the process work. Thanks so much.

Hi,

Most SE's do not index links immediately.

Wait for a month or so to see if there is any improvement in the # of links to your site.

If there is no improvement, then the possible reason for this is that the sites that link to you, more specifically, the URL that links to your site is not indexed by the SE's.

What you could perhaps do is submit those URL's to the SE and wait till they are spidered and indexed and then you can see an improvement in the backlinks to your site.
