OK I got a quick question. Has anyone found or created a list of directories where you can submit too. I know your probably laughing at this post because it is a lazy question but its 4pm and it's been a long day so I thought why not ask....

I was wondering if there is a list of directories I could use for link submission. I tried searching the forums and the net but I couldn't find any lists. Sure you can find directories but can you find a list that has a bunch of directories and their submit pages. Makes for a quick, easy and painless submittion process.

So....anyone know of a list out there?

Thanks

Wes

Most directories will ask you to drill down to the most specific level before you can submit a site.

Have you tried looking for directories on Yahoo! or DMOZ?

No actually I haven't but thats a good idea ;)

Right now I just typed in "directory add url" in google and I am drilling down the pages adding my site where I can.

There's alot of good suggestions for directories to submit to, right here on WebMasterWorld. But you need to go back out to the main index page and scroll down and click on the "Directories" forum ;)

Sorry, no lists please. Thanks.

One reason is because certain knuckleheads like to blow in here and promote the copy/pasted list they pinched from another website, promoting their own site as an "seo resources" page (ugh).

Another reason is because self promotion is not allowed on WebmasterWorld. Directories are businesses. We can't have people dropping url's to their businesses.

While there are some notable directories out there that are talked about in the directories forum (negatively as often as positively), you're generally not going to see discussions of the myriad free script directories that pop up like popcorn at the circus.

Thanks for understanding.
