I know that linking is really important for my web site to be seen however i do not have the means to do it myself... my web designer does it for me. So right now i am limited to only linking with non reciprical sites (due to the fact that reciprical ones ask for me to add their sites first before i can give them my info for mine to be added) Am i just heading up the wrong road with this or is it possible for me to still be adding myself to a few and helping the process along?

Sure you can keep on doing what you are doing. You might well find a number of sites [depending on your topic I suppose] that will add links to your site without a return link.

Some of the sites that ask me for links put up a link to my site also, but it's not a requirement. In fact, normally I don't even mention it.

If I like their site, I link to it. If they want to link to mine, I appreciate it, but that's their choice.

When I get a link request I much prefer the very brief version.... "Please link to somesite.com. Thanks".

I have done a few recips. I don't much care for the process.

It will take longer for your link count to grow, but if you continue to add content to your site, eventually you will begin to see sites linking to you because of the content you offer.
