Hi All

I am wondering if you purchase popular search engine and directory text ads (I think you know who they are)and continue to keep and pay for these pay per click ads for years, will they eventually count towards back links and pagerank popularity?

Will these ads be spidered and counted towards your links if you carry these paid links forever? I am wondering how these successful websites have so many links credited for link popularity on these major engines and directories.

The only thing I can think of is that they are pay per click programs that are being counted towards rank and popularity.

Is this thinking correct?

Any input would be appreciated!

Thanks!

i think they would as long as they're static text links (no ad tracking codes or anything else) and that it's relavant to your site. they say that SE know that some sites sell text links and will penalize your site. i'll have to see if this holds true in about three months. i should then have pr6 and SHOUlD outrank my competitors because of on-page SEO
