Breaking out of frames

How do link partners react to it?

I find that more and more link partners frame my site (open my page in a frame of their own site when the link is clicked). Having experienced much more harmful forms of linking to me, including 302 redirects, I have so far tolerated the framing, but now it is becoming too common.

Why do webmasters frame other site's pages? Other reasons than to dupe their visitors. How do search engines treat this framing? Does the use of anti-framing methods frequently result in the link being simply deleted? Many of those links are not reciprocal, so maybe I should rather accept the framing.

People frame linked sites to try to keep their own name and navigation visible. Visitors can view your content, but still be "on their site".

Unless some of these links are incredibly valuable to you in terms of traffic or PR, I'd put in a frame-busting script. Chances are, most of you link sites won't notice and won't care if you do. Some people give the visitor a choice by providing a link to break out of a frame; I've never been a big fan of this approach.
