Yeah hi, i am hopping some one can help me, my new site will allow member to post up a image, the site is a classifieds ad site, since i am on a limited space hosting plan i decided to allow members to link their picture from their personal or other website

Example:

<IMG SRC="http://www.memberssite.com/ad.jpg"/>

However i am a bit concered about spammer who might put up ads just to get a higher Page Rank. Would google read the above tag as a link, image or both? However would i go about protecting myself?
thank you

If you have classifieds, and anyone can post an ad directly, you're likely to have more trouble with spammers posting ads off-topic for the traffic than the page rank. Either way, you're going to need to delete some ads that are just plain inappropriate.

I read somewhere that google likes descriped images, so try to descripe your images links by <alt> </alt>

No, there's no evidence Google reads an image src as a link.
