Hey,

I was checking my Email and i got what looks like a rogue Email it says 'Do you want to exchange links?' 'Our sites are on the same topic!' (they are not) if so CLICK HERE!

Now i bet that if i did click the link it would take me to a porn site or something! Has anyone been getting any of these? at the bottom of the email it says this:

This email is Federal Trade Commission (FTC) CAN-SPAM Act-2003 compliant.

How can you tell they are not on the same subject if you haven't clicked through to the actual site?

It gives the website information but no website, just a 'click here' for our website.

Have you looked at the source code to see what 'click here' covers?

They contradict themselves, saying unless you click on the link you will get future emails, so you are on a mailing list.

Happy New Year all!

I've had several emails similar to the above and generally the themes are not cose enough (for my liking) to warrant linking to. I guess they normally come from webmasters on a link exchange hunt.
I don't bother with them anymore and just block them out......
