What is an Inbound link, Outbound link and Back link?

What is the difference between these terms?

(a) Inbound link - Is a link to your website.
(b) Outbound link - Is a link From your website.
(c) Backlink - I think mean slightly different to some people, a Backlink can just be an Inbound link, or it can be in the form of a reciprocal link.

I think (as well as many more people) that a 1 way link to your website has more importance than when you exchange links.

why is a 1 way better than reciprocal? (did I spell that right -- hee hee)

1-way is like a stranger who says you're good looking.

Reciprocal is someone you've partnered with, where you each agree for mutual benefit, to each tell everyone that the other is good looking.

The 1-way says more. The recip is basically an ad and the cost of running it is to return the favor. There are exceptions of course, but this is the general view.
