Hi there, I used to have all of my pages show up in Google's index when I ran a "link:" search, now Google shows that I only have 61 links to my site and very few of my internally linked pages show up unless I do a "site:" or "allinurl:" search. I was wondering if there is any benefit to changing my links to absolute links (http://www.mysite.com/mypages.html) versus relative links (mypages.html)? If I do this will Google count my pages as links and possibly give me a PageRank boost? Thanks!

This topic is being batted around alot these days. My take is relative/absolute make no difference. Others disagree.

Absolute is the way to go. Matt Cutts has often recommended absolute because it helps keep the bots from getting confused when navigating relative links.

With relative links bots have to calculate where in the structure they are, which can introduce an error. :( With absolute links there is less chance of an crawl error occurring. :)

This topic has nothing to do with the development of links, so I'm going to close it down. Please take a moment to skim the forum charter prior to posting to make sure you are posting in the correct forum.
