Hi, most people in here seems to agree, that reciprocal linking isn't valued so much anymore.

So my way of doing it now, is like this: I link from page-A to your page-B which links back to my page-C.

Is this a good link pattern to build?
Is it important that my 2 pages are not linked together in this case? (Both pages are on same server).
Other ideas how to avoid reciprocal linking?

Appreciate your thoughts
Mike

are you wanting to avoid reciprical links because you think they are not weighted as highly ...

because if so then it would be very easy for a technique such as you suggest to be spotted given the datasets that the se's have to play with.

people here confuse the notion of reciprical links being no good (for pr) with the fact that exchanging links with dead end pages with hundreds of links on them is almost a waste of time, this is two different issues.

What you're referring to is called triangular linking [webmasterworld.com].

"are you wanting to avoid reciprical links because you think they are not weighted as highly ... "

- Yep, that was the thought. From my very limited understanding, a link from page A to B values more without reciprocal link, than the same link, with a reciprocal back from page B. But maybe you can't generalize like that?

It seems like everybody knows the value of links by now, and basically nobody will give away a link without getting something back. So I though this triangular linking, would at least be a little better than reciprocal linking.

How do you do your reciprocal, triangular or whatever linking?

Your thoughts please... Mike
