I have another question for you guys. I am trying to achieve approximately 600 incoming links and I feel that I will probably have to display approximately 400 outgoing on my link section. I read somewhere that you should not have more than 100 links on one page. Would it be acceptable to have perhaps 5 predifined links pages each of them having approximately 80 outbound links?
Obviously each link section would be unique. I have approximately 10 closely related industries and I would think that somebody looking to achieve a recip link with me would be more interested in a properly labeled link section instead of just bunching all widget vendors into one group. I could break them down geographically for example.
Any thoughts?

Google says, "Keep the links on a given page to a reasonable number (fewer than 100)."
Now, even though they say that, they still use pages with more than 100 links per page in their own directory.
For example, there is a Web_Design_and_Development/Hosting/S/ dmoz PR 6 page with 186 links on it.
There is a cache page for this page even though there are more than 100 links on it, but... there is no cache page for the one with 779 links on it.
It is important to note that the cache page shows a 101k size for the page, but the page is actually larger than that at around 107k in size.
That means that the links at the bottom of the page are not being included in Google's database and are not being given any ranking benefits as you can see for your self by searching for the last few links on the page. There are no results for them when you query Google. The LAST 8 LISTINGS on that page are not found in the Google database. Therefore, it stands to reason that they are not given any ranking consideration even though they are listed on a PageRank 6 page that is located in the Google directory. Hmmm? How many of you know about this? Of course, this is just one example and as you can imagine there are many, many more.
Another example is this PR 5 page on DMOZ with 779 links on it.
Web_Design_and_Development/Designers/Full_Service/I/
In fact, Google doesn't even have a cache for that page, so doesn't that mean that all of those links aren't being included in Google's database for ranking purposes?
Google Does have the subdirectory level above it cached though.
