I read somewhere that it's best not to link exchange with links that contain java e.g php or php? because the page is dynamically generated from a database. Is this true or can the search engine robots now read pages with this type of link?

I have an opportunity to link with a number of sites, different IP address but have been developed using php but I'm not sure whether I should go ahead with it.

many thanks

Check the backlinks for some of the existing links on a page you would be getting a link from in a few different search engines and see if the page you want a link from shows up. I'm always surprised at some of the dynamic links that the search engines seem to be able to follow these days.
