Let's say you have 4 SOLID websites, no spam, no tricks. Good solid unique content.

So you want to build link pop and even better is if you can get all 1-way inbounds, because aparrently they're a lot better :)

So this is what I'm thinking. Your sites are 1,2,3,4 and your linking partner is L.

1 -> L (site 1 links to L)
2 -> L (site 2 links to L)

L -> 3 (L links to site 3)
L -> 4 (L links to site 4)

Sites 1,2,3,4 do not interlink. Therefor to both you and your linking partner all links seem to be 1-way links.

It will take you twice as long to get the same # of links normal recip links would get you. And it would probably confuse the hell out of the other webmaster. So another words its about 3-4x the work, but is a 1-way inbound link really worth it?

Or should I just take a regular recip link strategy? Is there a better strategy one could use to get 1-way inbounds other than paying $$$ :)

Thanks.

Well, I like one way links. And your strategy looks like the typical way to seed a new website with link pop. It's a start to a more ambitious plan.

Once seeded, it makes it that much easier to ask for links. We all know how some webmasters dislike linking to white bars and gray bars...

During the last 30 days, I notice that there are more and more webmasters requesting for one-way links similar to the ones suggested by born2drv.

So far, I have not exchange links with anyone of them, because I'm suspicious about the future...I'm not sure what the webmasters would do or had done with the sites or link pages where my links are on. If those sites are only meant for "outbound", then it might not be worth to exchange links with...because the webmasters may or may not care so much as those ones' for their "inbound".

There is also a possibility that webmasters get PR by Paid links for the outbound websites or groups of websites.

In the viewpoint of L, I would first question about the quality of links that I would get from site 1 and 2 as of now and of future.

I went to the search engine marketing conference in San Jose in early August.

I asked an SEO firm (that I will not name) about how they get links, as I am considering outsourcing this work.

The answer I got is that they study the competition, make a list of those linking to them, and buy links (if they can't get free one ways, which they don't expect to).

I guess this means they are making tons of micropayments to sites on the behalf of their clients.

Though expensive, this approach is more likely to build PR and minimize the risk of linking to recip link partners (risks meaning bad neighborhoods, PR drain).
