Dealing with web design companies

I'd like to know if anyone else has similar issues to myself and how they dealt with it.

A few of my sites concern a geographically small community and therefore many of the existing and new sites on a similar topic are creayed by one or two web design companies.

The problem I have with link exchanges is that many of the site owners are happy to do so, but are put of by the extravagant pricing of the Web Design companies.

I have tried to contact the design companies themselves but they don't seem interested.

Any suggestions or people in similar situations?

Yeah, that's a problem.
I haven't come across a solution.

Basically, they're being charged $50 or more per hour/minimum to have their website updated, so they're not going to spring for that until they have a decent number of updates to do.

I don't have the faintest idea about websites, but have over 40 test sites created for me with control panels.

Even at my age I can do whatever I like on the sites, and my 8 year old grandson is a wizard at it.

Maybe you should start that business as well.
