I want to explore the option of encouraging other webmasters from contacting me to exchange links.

Are there any software programs that I can just leave on my site that will auto add their link and check their site to see if my link has been added?

I want a tool so that someone can come across my site, add their site and put my link on their site, all automatically.

There are definite downsides to doing this.

Regardless, you can easily find lots of tools and scripts by doing a search for cgi scripts or php scripts. They're all over the place.

- The webmaster can put your link up only momentarily so that the script just checks that it is there, and then takes it down. They get a free one way link.

- Sites you don't want to be associated with will often be the ones making the most use out of this tool. If they see your links pages are ~PR4 they will spam every pr0n site they have into your directory.

There are scripts that will put the requested link on hold until you review it and approve it.

Mark my words here: Any automated link solution you use should NEVER be used in full-auto mode.

Ok, great advice and good points. Can someone recommend a script to me please? You can sticky mail me if needs be.

I have about 100 sites so something that I can get an unlimited license for.

Or should I role my own at one of the lance sites?

>>>Can someone recommend a script to me please?

There's tons of it out there. Just do a Google search for "download whatever script" or search on "perl script directory" or "cgi directory," you get the idea, and follow the links. Pretty easy to do.

I make it a habit to find and bookmark php and perl script directories, as well as download and save all kinds of scripts and tools. Lots of cool stuff out there.
