How do people go about getting or making a bot that will go from site to site with specific keywords and record the URL and email address.

I want to develop a list of sites I can review and decide if I want to request a link, rather then spending half my time creating the list.

How do people go about getting or making a bot...

  • Networking with others is a good way to get recommendations for programmers. One of the values of Pubconference is meeting with your peers and exchanging tips

  • Search using your favorite search engine. When looking for software, it's a good idea to use the word software, or script, and the word "download" in order to find what you need.

  • There are a number of software download directories. Do a search for Free downloads, or Software directory to find one. Then search for spiders or bot

  • There are tons of script websites. Just do a search for free scripts, etc.

  • You can also do a search for Offshore script programming or offshore programmers, etc. and see what you can find

And don't restrict your search to Google. Try Yahoo or dmoz, too.

By far the best resource is a friend who can recommend their favorite programmer. This is where networking comes into play. Pubconference is a great way to network with others who share similar interests.
