Hello,
I am looking to sell text links to increase revenues. But, I don't know where to find buyers. I have posted an auction in ****.com. However, I think the site does not get many visitors.

Could anyone tell me where to find text link buyers?

Also, do you think $30/month is too much for a PR6 sitewide text link?

Thanks
Pang

I think what he may be saying is, you'll be linking to 0 pr sites and may lose your "6". There are many many places to sell (but I dont have addresses on hand).

We sell ad space in the form of text links on our homepage. We dont advertise it as "buying PR" -- just a simple ad wherein buyers have the option of a text link or small button. We've been doing this waayyy before the concept of PR became in vogue. We use phpadsnew to serve the ads, but some of our advertisers request that their ads be hardcoded to our pages in order for the SE robots to count it as a backlink to them. We charge a stiffer price for those.

The plus side -- it is a good revenue source for us. Text links on our homepage makes a fourth of our revenues. And we charge wayyyyy more than your $30/month

The negative side -- we lost our #1 slot in a very competitive keyword. We've been #1 for this 2-word keyword for two years now, never lost the spot even after the Brady or Florida Google shakeups. But the #2 site in the SERPs bought a spot with his ad hardcoded on our homepage. After two months on our page in March, we lost to him in the #1 spot.

We may have lost the #1 spot, but we got his money -- and we are in the business of making money so all is well.

Try a search for "text link brokers" and similar phrases.

Yes graywolf, crazy as it sounds, we sold a text link to a competitor (it was not my decision but my partners). My partners' belief is that we are on business to make money, not to hold on to #1 spot.

We jacked up the price by about 250% compared to the others, and he still bit the bullet. He really wanted the spot. We earned good money from him.

When we lost the #1 spot, my partners realized the impact of the text link. His ad run for several months, and when the contract expired, we did not renew it any longer. He still wanted to continue, but we refused.

Now we need to outwit him to regain the #1 spot -- without buying any links from him :o)

You may have been considered a "network of sites". I've tried to stay clear of this so don't know if decoupling the link will undo it once it's already done.

Thanks everyone.
I will not sell a lot of text links, maybe less than 5. So, I don't think it will consider as "network of sites".

It seems that we have moved up (a little) after we linked to our competitors for non-competitive keywords. And no change for competitive keywords.

And, the text link auction site does not as bad as it seems to be. I got real people buying my links.
