Should I link to them?

They have already linked to me.

I have a few inwards links from sites that didn't ask me for reciprocal links and linked to me when I asked them to.

I am under no obligation to link to them in return but those sites are useful for my visitors and I want to help them too. But I keep on reading that one-way link is better than reciprocal links from the viewpoint of SE placement.

What should I do? (Some days I want to link out to all the nice sites leaving lower PR for my site. The way I look at it - I got my PR from others and it is only fair that I return most to it to outside world. Have I become irrational? ;))

If the site would be interesting or helpful to your visitors why not link to them.

PR is only a small part of the equation that equals the world wide web, don't let it rule you.

If they're not in "bad neighborhoods," (gaming, pills, mature, etc.) link to them and don't give it a second thought.

Have I become irrational?
Are you wearing a tinfoil hat? ;) I should have left this question for someone else I suppose...

I hate when that happens. It's great to cultivate those one way inbounds and then have to debate whether I should tell my visitors about the other website.

Ok, I know some people aren't going to agree with me but...
But then again, there are literally thousands of great websites out there to link to, one or two omissions, in the large scheme of things, isn't going to hurt anyone. It's a toss-up.

Just my opinion...

No, they are all high quality sites. I think some of them are just too shy to ask for reciprocal links. Okay I will link to them but will not pass PR to them. Okay, okay I will link to them, will also tranfer PR, and will even write nice descriptions encouraging my visitors to go there. And then ...one day my site will mysteriously vanish from Google's index because one of these sites has turned into "bad neighborhood."

martin - I agree with your point. In my field there are 100's quality website around. It wouldn't be possible for me to link to each and everyone of them.

I would say, keep getting one way links one side and on the other side you link to one who don't link to you. Its like get from those who have lot and pass it on to someone who are good enough and nice but dont have link.

But don't be greedy ;)

Hehe I havent posted here in a while and I forgot just how paranoid WW members are! ;)

My 2c:

Link back to them.

Email them thanking them for the links and point out you linked back to them. Compliment them on their site. Ask them stuff.

After a few emails suggest exchanging sponsored links in your respective links sections. Make sure the link text you provide them with has juicy keywords. Don't go overboard with dozens of reciprocal links with one site, but a couple wont hurt. ;)

Personally, I do not do recripicol links. I link to very few sites, and only those that are (a) permanent, and (b) of use to my visitors. I have gotten tired of linking to a wonderful site, only to look a few months later and find some porno-scum has bought it and replaced it with something abominable.

You've gotta roll through your links from time to time and make sure that they're still the same site they were when you linked to them.

It's not a big deal, and it's part of running a successful link campaign.

Good luck,

You should link back to them if they are linking to you.
