Automating links exchanges

Does anyone have any thoughts about coding up scripts for a high quality link exchange program? I was thinking that there has got to be an efficient way to spider through a "good neighborhood", quickly look over what was scraped up as the "link exchange" text and check the PR. Any ideas?

Email personalization helps your chances for an exchange. That's the downside to scraping. I prefer the old fashioned way.

MB, very true. I already filter lots of automated requests on my mailserver. But customized requests always get a check.

LOL, I was just responding in another thread in this forum thinking I was the only one left not using software. Glad to know I'm not alone.

I personally check for site quality, is the site related to mine in some way, will it help me to exchange with them, does it make sense to do, who are they linking to etc. Others might check for different things, but that is my list. ;)
