Inbound links consistence

Always the same string or variations?

How should we try to get inbound links asking different sites to link with different anchor texts or variations of anchor text around the targeted keywords?

If you have 50 inbound links, should be all "Mysite title my keys bla" or variations?

Should the targeted keyphrase be in the anchor?

What about linking to the same page (home)?
Is a good strategy to ask all links to home of our site or spread to important pages?
Since is not easy efforts would be splitted...
