PR5 link to PR5 - worth it?

Hi,

our worldwide main site has PR5 on the prominent pages and PR4 on the less prominent pages. Our US office runs - apart from their official PR5 site - a second "low profile quick & dirty" site for special projects. Surprisingly this has also achieved PR5.

The quick&dirty site only links to the US site, NOT to the worldwide site.

Nooooow the question is: will an additional PR5 inbound link help our global PR5 site, or is it not worth the effort? Or will the PR5 be passed via the corporate US site onto the global site?

Is this link useful to your visitors?

Good question.

They will get from a US-only-special-projects page to the corporate-global-site, where they will find the full portfolio of services and offerings.

This might be considered helpful.

It should be useful. You can get another exposure somewhere along internet for free. Directly get visitors there. Why not?

Don't just think that link exchange is solely for search engine ranking. After all, you are trying to get traffic so you want good search engine ranking.

If there is a method to get you traffic, why not use it?

You might even use the site to link to deep-link to a page or two of content you want to highlight in the corporate site.

Google questions should be posted in the Google News forum.

From the Link Development forum charter [webmasterworld.com]:

Questions about links as used by specific search engines for ranking purposes should be put in that search engine's forum.
