I don't even want to think about how long it took to find the 40 or so sites I'm linking to. I'm trying to find at least one Bricks and Mortar merchant site in each of the fifty US states.
Turns out that's MUCH harder than I expected.
I must have looked at, and rejected, at least three times as many sites as I've linked to.
I have not solicited reciprical links for this page, but I do say that I'm willing to look at suggestions for sites to link to. I also say I reserve the right to refuse to link to any site for any reason or no reason at all.
My criteria are relatively simple.
1: If it's a bricks and mortar location, list the location on the website, easy to find.
2: Tell us the business hours. If you are only open by appointment, say so.
3: Don't hide your contact information. Put your telephone number up where it can be found.
Considering the nature of the business, a photo of the place would be nice, but I'm not real rigid on this one.
4: I won't knowingly link to a business that has 2 or more identical or similar sites.
Now my questions.
1: Do these criteria seem unreasonable?
2: If you have a set of criteria for who you will link to, do you publish those on your site?
Also I check their PR before linking to them.
