Link Exchanges - Do they improve rank?

Alexa, Ranking dot com, etc?

I was just going to a few different web sites that had MSN link exchange, and I was wondering if they increase a sites ranking in alexa and ranking dot com. Anyone know anything about this posibility?

Exchanging Links always help its especially true in Google

Compworld, I'd suggest you go to Alexa and Ranking and read what they have to say about how their respective systems work.

Linking is a different subject altogether. Those sites measure traffic (in a manner of speaking) not links.

Hi Forum,
Actually, both Ranking.com and Alexa measure popularity among a sample of Internet users. If a webmaster was looking for insights into who to exchange links with, both of these resources would be excellent starting points. The data these services provide, of course, should not be taken as actual representations but rather an overview into how trafficked overall a website is.
