Lets assume you sell 3rd party software for a known software product. lets call it "mcrsft"

"mcrsft" is pr 9
Should you link to "mcrsft"?

Does that benefits your pr?

silverbytes, it won't boost your PR, but it may help your search rankings. Post-Florida, it seems that some pages were getting found for keywords that appeared only in their outbound links.

Let's further assume that PR questions are specifically related to Google. That means they belong in the Google News forum! ;)

From the Link Development Charter [webmasterworld.com], "Questions about links as used by specific search engines for ranking purposes should be put in that search engine's forum."
