Hi, I'm new to this SEO and am sending link letters to many webmaster@domain.com. Many are being returned undeliverable, but not all. Is this normal and if so, what is the alternative?

Thanks
David

Hi Shak, I'd glady take a slap on the wrist. :) I was under the impression this is how to obtain links. I currently visit the site and if I don't find an email address, I sent it to webmaster@domain.com. Please let me know the correct way to do this.

Much Appreciated
David

To be honest there is a big devide.

A lot of good resources tell you to link, send request and wait. I have found that webmasters who on purpose waste your time are as bad as spammers.

Linkexchange@mydomain.com - gets responses like - I will never see your message. Others simply setup spam cop and start saying you are a link farm and tell you a load of rubish.

The problem is too many requests for useless sites or rec. links that are not to anyones benefit. - I prefer someone linking to my site but there is a lot of people out there with who don't, some of them have extreamly bad manners!

Im not sure that some of them even read the content of my email - so I am thinking of changing my strategy...

What is the 'latest' exchange mannerisms? Cause I don't like my time wasted and I don't like to waste anyone elses. We have a hard enough job as it is. . .

I think that linking first then requesting is a big waste of time because 90% ignore the letter.

Better to spend the time sending out more Emails than to put HTML code on your pages that will have to be taken down in two weeks.

The best is to see the email from the website and ask them. Though it works good and u may get a lot of high quality links, I feel not good about it because this is another way of spamming and I HATE SPAM.
