Sending people through a site to another site.

Is this OK? Is it worthwhile?

I have two sites. On the first site I have a blog, lots of general interest links, just a bunch of general interest stuff with an OK PR.

I have a second site where I want to increase the Alexa and Google rankings.

Is it OK to change the links on the first site to go through the second site (i.e., using a redirect on the second site)? Downside? It'd be easy to setup with an ASP page and a querystring redirect. Is it worth the trouble?

TIA

You mean you setup a redirect on the second site which redirects then to the first?

This will give PR to the finally redirected page (look at yahoo entries to see this in effect).

Why don't you just link from A to B?
