Is anybody being plagued with link exchange requests from link-builder?

You receive a request (per website) which states (usually incorrectly) the function of your site and also keeps the requesting domain confidential, for the time being!

I wouldn't mind, if at least after spidering, they at least had a quick flick through the results to ensure that the websites they emailed were actually relevant!

I'm all for automation, but I find a human brain is usually required at some point!

I agree. By taking on obviously MANY customers, and then keeping them anonymous, link-builder starts looking pretty spammy. Instead of getting requests from 10 different sites / day, it now looks like one gets 10 from link-builder alone!

The need to bring back a personal touch. I would NEVER leave my linking campaign to the likes of them. Unfortounately It seems not everybodies standards are high when it comes to linking.

As an update to this, I did respond to one of their requests made to a "new" site of mine which is currently PR0.

In actual fact, their linking page will be a PR4 from a reasonable quality site, so I think I would consider that a good exchange :-)

Perhaps the moral is that it is worth investigating even though I don't approve of the "agent's" methods!

Hehe :)

I wouldn't bother if sites came to me instead of me having to search for them :)

50 links? Doesn't sound too bad :)

Btw, right after my post here I received the very first message from them. Not kidding.

They must be reading this :)
