Hello everyone, this is my first posting. I have spent a few hours looking through the forum for some answers to my questions, but no luck. I own a website that we currently receive about 5000 hits daily, and have several linked sites (about 10) that don't show up on Alexa or anywhere else as being linked. Does anyone know why that is or what I need to do about it. Also, I see everyone talking about a PR7 or PR4...what is that. Thanks for your time.

Neither Google's link:url.com nor alltheweb's similar feature is 100%. And they will take a while to show linkbacks. The least reliable of all is Alexa. They haven't updated our linkbacks for YEARS.

PR = Page Rank. You can download the Google Toolbar from [toolbar.google.com...]

And a big welcome to webmasterworld :-)

Thanks Macro. My business is a Wholesale pay per click Search Engine so Google is in a sense a competitor, what is the benefit or advantage of having a google search bar on my site? I will do so if it's overall advantages are great, just not sure why. Thanks again.

It's not a search bar on your site. It's a feature added to your browser.

So having the toolbar, how does that help?

pmac, I already gave him the URL but I don't think he's used it :-(

Gopher, why don't you follow it and find out?

Ok, Ok :) I'm not trying to be stubborn here. I dowloaded the toolbar...and now have Yahoo and Google on my toolbar. But how does this help my website? Am I missing something?

It won't help your site. But you can see a website's pr and backlinks.

Gopher, it's not just a download link. There is a lot of useful info and Tool bar FAQ there.

Ok, I will read through there. I have one more question to post, but have to find the best place to post but if any of you know the answer, I'm more than happy to listen :) I know we have several page views per user on our site, probably about 5.5. Alexa always shows us at 1 to 1.5. There was another company that was averaging 1 and overnight they are at 9. What gives? Is there something I need to do or make sure is in my webpages?
