For instance, if i focus on "Jewelry" theme, and search for new links partners by actually entering other sites' links page that focus on Jewelry, i find that every 3rd site i come across with, it turns out that i already asked them to swap with me. ( of course i don't ask again since my system notifies me that i already asked them for a swap). that's a huge waste of time.
How many links partners do u think exists out there?
Is there a good strategy to find new links partners?
Thanks.

Travel; Web Services.
I don't want to change the categories since they are the one that fits to my field.
any way, in any category, say take what u offered, "Clothing & Apparel" all other sub categories are included, i.e., shoes, lingerie, shirts, hats, fashion, clothing accessories etc etc.
So any way, with this specific category its the same, about every 3-4 site i come accross with - i've already asked to swap b 4.
Does any one of you guys can share me with an insight about getting massive links exchange?
Thanks.
The thing with backlinks though, is that many of those sites, do not have a link swap section/policy.
So i'm back to square one - if every 3-4th sites in the backlinks, do not have a links exchange policy, then it is the same waste of time as if i go to the links page of each site and run accross every 3-4 site which i already asked to exchange links b 4.
However, I absolutly agree with you, that looking at the backlinks of sites in Dmoz can last for ages.
Any other ideas?
Osi.
But still, pretty cool

Building "information only" websites with my own "small text ads" linking back to my commercial site has seriously decreased my dependency on Google. Google only accounts for about 25 percent of my traffic now.
However, in recent days, Google "lost" one of my information only sites that had 150 pages. A week before it did this, Google was showing Meta Title and Description that had changed 4 weeks ago. The Page Rank still shows tho. I am not really worried about Google "losing it" because I know it just sometimes happens that Google will lose a site all together. The site used ZERO spam tactics and I spread the back links to my commercial site among my interior pages. I also have about 50 PR3 or higher links to the information site's front page, giving me a strong PR4.
One thing is that the website is only 90 days old and Google seems to be going through some sort of semi-update this weekend. Even if Google never comes back to it, 150 pages in the other search engines is a strong enough reason to keep the site up.
Soon google will kill the value of all those links pages/reciprical pages etc etc etc. so you need to have good quality inbounds and those are on the sites that do not have any of these and don't understand what they are.
So chase the links that are hard work, no one else will do and you will win.....believe me.
Doug
Doug, your last reply, with the rest of you guys kind replies, encourage me to go into the question of quality - You say that chasing quality is the best policy - well.....i agree with you - but can u measure quality in this field?
Is one link from a PR5 page is better then 50 links from a PR1 or 2?
And on the same level - should i buy a sponsored text link on a PR6 site (PR6 home page and PR5 for the rest of the pages) - does it worth more then...how many links from a PR2-3 pages (the most common links pages)...100? 200?
Or make it extreme - should i pay, say something like 2000$ to get a sponsored text link on a PR8 home page site, with 40 pages of PR7 and 6 for the rest of the site's pages, with my link text running on all of them, say, at the bottom of the pages - does it worth PR-ly speaking, like all my reciprocal links (about 900 of them)
Does any of you have, or heard of, of a table of "how much does a link here worth" PR-ly speaking - which translates to $$$ of course - when placing your sponsor text ad/link on a site's page?
Osi.
Good clean high PR links with nice anchor text is good for PR, ranking and also remeber if the site is on theme it will get you good quality traffic.....a sometimes forgotten fact
I would always recommend lots of low PR links going in deep all over your site with good anchor text, ideally suited to match the site it comes from and the page it goes to.
Big PR links help going into agressive areas, probably high in your structure, and can hence pass PR round your site, it looks like at present it will do you well, but my view is in the long run, lots of links from lots of on theme sites on different IP's will win.
Links from everywhere is the game.....watch out who and where you talk about buying PR....walls have ears.
Doug
No, quite the opposite. Google is heavily favoring quantity of links (with anchor text) over quality.
I wouldn't worry too much about PR. Google has almost entirely stopped using PR as a factor in scoring. I guess this is because webmasters figured out that anyone can get a PR6-7 with a little bit of cash.
Also, don't forget that INK is going to be powering Yahoo! and MSN at some point not too far off. INK uses link pop in their algo, but not PR.
IMO, INK will be almost as important as Google pretty soon. Since their is no harm in having inbound links from any source, I would take them all.
